Join the crew! We need you!

"The Lunch Bunch Crew" is a group of parents that come to help the students and staff in the lunch room every day. Having our parents present helps with the washing of hands, helping with the hot lunch line, opening of tricky packages and assisting our students with whatever their needs may be. Parental help makes sure the lunch room is ready for each grade level and the parents have a lot of fun! If you are interested in joining this crew and you have time to donate between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm a couple of times each month please sign up! Send an email to Kim Gahagan and we'll get you started!

Should Your Child Be Reading in Kindergarten or First Grade? When Do Students Start Learning Multiplication?
Many parents inquire about "when" their child should be reaching certain educational benchmarks or what the standards are for our school district. The answers to those questions and many more can be found in this document: Guide For Benchmarks (Language Arts/Reading & Mathematics Grades K-5). We encourage you to print a copy of the pages that pertain to your child(ren) and discuss any questions you may have with your teacher(s).

It Pays To Shop
Yes, that's right! If you're looking for an easy way to contribute funds to our school effortlessly - grab your wallet and let's hit the stores! Stores like Vons, Albertsons, Target, Macy's and more, all have programs that donate a portion of their sales to our school. The only thing you need to do is tell them who gets that donation.

eScrip: One of the biggest programs is through eScrip.
eScrip is a hassle-free way for schools to raise funds through everyday purchases made at eScrip merchants. If you shop at places like Vons, Big 5 Sporting Goods, Office Max, Macy's (and more) our school automatically gets a portion of the sale. Sign up online - it's quick and easy [register here]. List "Staton Elementary" as the group name and our group number is: 3727688.

Albertsons: Use your Preferred Savings Card and we'll receive 4% of your purchase as a donation. You'll find a link to the Community Partners Program here. Our school's partner id is: 49000122072.

Safety Is Key
As the principal of Staton Elementary School, it is my responsibility to provide a safe, orderly and inviting environment where your children can learn. To insure that your children arrive safe at school, certain rules and guidelines have been put in place. Children are not permitted to have skateboards, scooters, or “wheelies” at school. Students may ride bicycles to school and lock them in the bike rack each day. It is recommended that students have a helmet when riding their bikes and these can be taken to the classrooms. If your children walk to school, please inform them to walk on the sidewalks and watch for moving vehicles, especially in the front parking lot.  If you drive your children to school, please use the “Kiss 'n Go Lane”. This route moves quickly each morning and enables you to drop your children off at the steps, where they are not in traffic’s harm. Please do not use the front parking lot to drop students off in the mornings. This area can get quite congested with school buses and staff parking.
The dismissal bell rings at 3:21 p.m. and playground supervision ends at 3:30 p.m. Any student left on the playground or at the bus lane after this time will be escorted to the office and the parents will then be contacted. We suggest that you discuss a specific location to meet with your children each day after school. Students will be dismissed by their classroom teacher at their designated lines, not from within the building. Students may exit the playground via the steps, or the front gate, to the parking lot. If you park in the school parking lot at dismissal time, it is imperative that you only park in the designated parking areas. Please do not park along the curbs or any red areas. We have buses that pick up students with special needs that need to park along the designated curb areas. If you park in these areas, you will be asked to move your vehicles. If you choose to pick up your children at the “Kiss 'n Go Lane”, you must also adhere to traffic rules. You may not double or triple park or bypass the buses.Your child’s safety  is of the utmost importance to us. Please help keep them safe by following these practices. If necessary, the Clark County School District police officers will be contacted to cite tickets for any traffic violations.
